William Booth Primary and Nursery School, Nottingham

School Objective: William Booth Primary and Nursery School in Nottingham wanted a safe, versatile outdoor area for pupils. They needed a sturdy, weather-resistant shelter to allow year-round play and learning. For added safety, padded post protectors were included for younger children, while the design also blended with the school surroundings. The shelter also provides a covered space for parents waiting to collect children, making it a practical solution for the whole community.

NBB Outdoors’ Solution: NBB Outdoors designed and installed a bespoke Winterbourne Wall Attached Shelter to meet the school’s needs. Measuring L: 11,500mm x D: 3,000mm x H: 2,400/3,265mm, it was securely sub-surfaced with tarmac reinstated for a neat finish. The design featured four cranked rear brackets, one rear post with inserted foot, and rafter and beam overhangs for maximum coverage. Front guttering drained to ground level, and six existing steel posts were removed. For safety, four post protectors were added, three on shelter posts and one on the rainwater pipe post. Finished in White RAL 9003, the shelter blends with its surroundings while providing durable weather protection.

Completed on time and to a high standard, the project enhanced the outdoor space with post protectors for safety and reliable weather protection.
