Kimbolton Prep School

Kimbolton School is situated in Cambridgeshire, the attractive grounds are centred on Kimbolton Castle. The school caters for approximately 1000 students, aged between 4 and 18 years old. They pride themselves in providing a caring, challenging environment in which all pupils are encouraged to fulfil their potential and are given opportunities to flourish in a wide variety of curricular and extra-curricular interests.

Over the past decade, the school have made many improvements to the facilities, including a new entrance building and library at the prep school, and a new Science and Maths Centre at the Senior School. They have recently replaced the 2015-2019 plan, with the next phase 2020-2024 with more developments scheduled.   

NBB were contacted by SDC Builders on behalf of Kimbolton School. We were asked to supply shelters which would provide cover outside classrooms within the school. Our team proposed a detailed bespoke design which suited the modern look of the existing building.

The installation took place during the school holidays so that there would be no disruption to the pupils during school hours. The finished structure comprises of three separate Freestanding Winterbourne Shelters, which are joined to make a long walkway which fits in perfectly with the building. The school opted for Silver RAL9006 which is one of our standard colours, and the roof is made using clear polycarbonate for a light and airy feel. The finished shelter looks fantastic and covered by the 25 years life-maintained guarantee it will continue to serve the school for many years to come!
