West Leigh Infant School, Bristol

School Objective: West Leigh Infant School faced challenges with unpredictable weather, limiting outdoor play and learning. A durable, weather resistant shelter was essential to create a safe, covered space for students, enabling outdoor activities in all conditions. The shelter also needed to provide a comfortable waiting area for parents and visitors.

NBB Outdoors SolutionNBB Outdoors installed a bespoke Winterbourne Freestanding Playground Shelter to meet the school’s needs. Measuring L:9000mm x D:5000mm x H:2600mm, the shelter was securely sub-surfaced with paving slabs reinstated around the posts to ensure long-term stability. It was finished in Blue RAL 5002 and fitted with guttering on both sides for effective water drainage. One side was linked to the existing rainwater pipe to enhance drainage efficiency. The design also included additional inserted feet to accommodate the shelter’s proximity to the building, providing extra security and support.

Summary: NBB Outdoors provided a seamless solution tailored to the school’s specific needs. The project was completed on time and within budget, creating a functional, durable, and visually appealing shelter. West Leigh Infant School now benefits from a enhanced outdoor learning and play area, thanks to a successful partnership with NBB.
